i got one of the trial sets a while back and was inspired by u/softhorns to do a review so i finally got down to it!

*the top 2 pics were on the same night, 8 hours apart
*the bottom right pic was taken a diff day with diff makeup, i just used it to show my natural eye colour!

**details of the lens**

– brand: hapa kristin
– graphic dia: 13mm
– BC: 8.7mm
– dia: 14.2mm
– colour: a very natural grey
– dailies (there’s also a monthly one)

**my review**

out of the few in the set this was my favourite — it looked sooo dimensional it was like my eyes but extra starry and bright!

*key points*
– comfortable! i’ve worn regular contacts, and coloured contacts once before this. it’s not any more uncomfortable than regular contacts i feel.
– ever-so slightly enlarging: I think my natural eye size (?) is about 12.8mm so it’s only slightly bigger — so it looks really natural
– the colour itself, while grey, is very natural and shows up better in bright indoor light (i wore them at night so i didn’t see what they look like in sunlight. rather than making my pupils a different colour, it more so highlighted my pupils? i felt like those anime girls with the reflection drawn into their eyes, if that makes sense.

*however*
– it fell out of my right eye halfway through the night (hence the 2nd and bottom left pic) but by then it had been in for at least 8.5h so eh can’t really blame it
– it’s really natural looking (most of the hapa kristin lenses are) so if you want something more extreme i’d suggest olens

*overall experience with hapa kristin*

i think it’s good for dipping your toes into coloured lenses! they’re reputable and not uncomfortable and they’re all very natural looking. the trial sets are a good way to try different styles/sizes/colours so you know what you like. but i find the styles and colours quite repetitive so i tried olens as well, which has a much larger variety!

shipping from hapa kristin SEA was relatively quick and fuss free for me.

  1. Great review, crazy that it fell out of your eye! I also really love this lens design and thought it was really comfortable.

I ended up buying the monthly version and regretted it. The lenses are really fragile and thin and ripped when I was doing my usual rinse with solution and gentle rub routine after removing them. It’s happened with 2 pairs now and I barely got 2-3 wears out of them.

This has never happened with Olens or I-dol lens/Uria monthlies so I’m never purchasing monthlies from Hapa Kristin again. Super disappointing because they are a bit more expensive than other lens brands.
