I’ve been a big fan of Diane/Moist Diane products for a while now but I usually swear by their treatment (the one that comes in a tube), scalp essence and shower gels. It’s my first time buying a full size shampoo from them and boy am I impressed.
To start, I have dry, frizzy hair and an irritable/sensitive scalp that gets itchy very quickly. I have low/medium porosity hair. I live in the hot, humid equitorial region which means I usually have to wash my hair everyday if not it’ll get really, intolerably itchy. Sometimes it’s even itchy just a few hours after I wash my hair; even though I usually wash my hair everyday cos I sweat a lot walking home from work/ exercise after work.
I did not buy this series for myself. I noticed that my husband was having oily scalp/ hair from using my usual shampoo (I was using an American brand that was meant to be hydrating / moisturising cos yknow, dry frizzy hair) so I did some research and found that Diane does advertise this range of shampoo for oily scalp concerns. I went to the drugstore and got what I thought was the shampoo but I had actually picked up the treatment by mistake. So I had to make a second trip down and buy the shampoo.
Right after my husband started using it I saw a significant improvement in his oily scalp/hair. But I suppose that could’ve been due to the fact that the previous shampoo was really not suitable for him. But recently I dyed my hair (using Liese bubble foam) and I needed colour-safe shampoo (and my usual shampoo isn’t) so I decided to try this shampoo. And wow.
Wow it was.
It has been two weeks and I have not had an itchy scalp issue. Nothing else in my lifestyle/diet/environment/hygiene has changed and I am also not on any new medication so I have to give due credit to the shampoo.
There are days where I sweat omw to work or otw home and I still feel like if it dried off enough by bedtime I did not really need to wash it. Although I still did if I really sweat a lot/ exercised.
While I don’t know if shampoo really helps hair loss per se, at least I think I am losing less hair now because there’s less scratching of the scalp and less irritation.
I strongly recommend this shampoo for itchy/sensitive scalp folks!
