Holy cow. I GOTTA thank this Lacquerista for sharing their beautiful inspo video with us. Without you, I wouldn’t have THE MOST PERFECT & AMAZING rainbow experience I have ever had or could have ever imagined ❤️🌈❤️ I may be just be riding high on dopamine right now but I think I may have reached perfection. 🤌🏼🥹🤭 https://www.reddit.com/r/RedditLaqueristas/s/NYl9QkwM6w thank you!!
I started off with applying one coat Nailtiques 2+ followed by one coat of Dior Vernis base coat. Let all this completely dry (I waited @45min before starting the next step). Next I used a royal blue base color (royal ruckus by sassy sauce x2coats). I picked 4 different magnetic polishes; all with opposing magnetic colors. I used 3 from Bee’s Knees Lacquer (Only one Bed, In Seeking Life I Created Death, It Doesn’t Know Any Difference But You Do) and Cracked Polish Scorchy.
I started out having them all applied in thinnish vertical stripes with somewhat overlapping layers in a specific order. I did all (or most) of the left hand this way. Sheesh. That got old real quick. For someone with ADHD & Multiple Sclerosis, sitting for this long doing the same repetitious thing got old real quick. So the right hand, I was careless and reckless compared to the left. Whatever bottle I picked up first was it. It got smeared on (still vertically but it got laid down however big or small.) The next color was whatever I grabbed. I’d put that one beside and on top of the last one. By the time I was finished all were hella overlapped and topped each other. If I saw I had not enough of one color, I’d just add it to wherever as long as it’s on there. (If you look at my left pinky, it’s the only one that doesn’t lean predominantly yellow. It’s more on the red side & hardly any green/yellow. I used more scorchy and I was so done I didnt care to go back & adjust it).
After applying all 4 to the desired color, I used the 5D printed magnet along with 3 of the smaller neodymium magnets affixed to the top (also removing the top each time). After doing all 10 fingers, I started all over again. This time both hands got the whatever happens happens treatment: random polish order and random whacked on (but still vertical & overlapping) placement adding a little more or less here and there depending on how I want it to turn out.
After I was done, I waited @3 hours before I applied top coat. I wanted the polish to cure a bit more. When I did the first hand (left) I used the 5D magnet after applying the QDTC (Cuticula Limitless QDTC). By the time I got to the pinky I was noticing it wasn’t really changing the look all that much. Not enough to wanna keep doing it. And what little it was doing, I wasn’t liking how it was moving it around. So the right had, I just applied it normally without using the magnet again.
