This is my ultimate oily skin review as the queen of grease and selective dryness 😢

The espoir be velvet cushion is generally known for being long lasting, even for people with oily skin, so I put it through my 14 hour wear test…heres the timeline and some pics! (personally identifiable features removed for privacy!)

Rules: no retouching other than powder/oil blotting.

8am: no pic, but cushion is pretty lightweight, smells like skincare and is generally pretty comfortable!!

My routine is: cleanse +skincare, sunscreen, primer (nyx glue), fixing spray (maybelline), 1 layer of foundation+concealer, blush etc, eye makeup, powder (skinfood pact and elf halo loose), mascara, fixing spray, powder, fixing spray

I noticed that the foundation becomes sticky after application, which is good for applying powder afterwards! Some of my friends said that the foundation oxidises but I personally didn’t experience that. I’m usually a 21C but the 22 (petal) was a bit too light for me (not sure, maybe i tanned). For western brands, my maybelline fit me is 112, and maybelline superstay is 108. The foundation is supposed to be matte but I reckon it looks pretty glowy on me (same with my friend, but it could just be because we have oily skin). So far, pretty good!

9:30 am: no pic but makeup is intact, a little creasing around the undereye but that could just be my bad powdering (tips please!!)

11 am: no pic, I could feel the foundation tightening a bit above my lips… but once again, makeup is intact, no caking but texture is a bit more visible now

3:30pm huge timeskip!!: caking a litte bit above the lips, and on cheeks. I don’t think it’s super noticeable and it’s 7 hrs in. My friend said she couldn’t tell at first but if ur real closeup u can see it!

4:30pm: first pic. Caking in the same areas as listed above, but also around nose area. Noticeably there were some small dots of caking around the chin area, and the coverage was definitely decreasing because my moles were becoming more noticeable lolol. Also, I tend to smile with my eyes quite a bit so I had some crazy creases under the aegyo sal or whatever you call it. NO SMILE LINES THO!

9:30-10pm: remaining pics. I wear glasses so the makeup around my nosebridge was pretty much gone (luckily my skin is similar shade to the foundation!). From afar, skin looks immaculate, but once u get close u can see I look pretty oily… I did a little bit of powdering throughout the day 1-2 times but for people like me you might need to repowder every 1.5-2 hrs. As I was washing my face I realised that some skin was coming off (cheeks, around lips and nose) and 2 baby pimples proliferated throughout the day… Foundation on forehead did NOT budge. I was floored. I reckon most the makeup around my nose/chin melted off but I could be wrong…

Overall: I think I was limit testing a little bit too hard with the 14 hour wear but I hope this was useful! Recommend bringing the cushion with you where you go so you can retouch. In comparison with other oily skin reccs, this was definitely the best one ive tried (AS THE QUEEN OF GREASE). Fit me doesnt work, superstay lasted max 6 hrs, and Missha BB cream would come off in a single wipe once you got greasy enough. This on stays on!
