I like short and colorful nails, am over 55 and really like fun nail art. I posted on another subreddit (without a pic but stated I had flowers on both ring fingers) if having nail art was bad for interviewing for a non profit position. It's not a leadership or people facing role. Most people were cool but one person said my nails were "juvenile". I feel like life's too short to not have some fun or not be myself. What do you think?

It’s cute! Honestly if people don’t want to hire you based on their dislike of fun nails, it’s their loss and you don’t want to work for them. Good luck!

  2. I’d wear it! Sounds like the person who said it was juvenile has no joy in their life!

Personally, I’d wear plain solid-color nails for a job interview. But in general, I have my nails decorated all the time. My previous manicure was blue with flowers similar to yours painted on them. Now I’m in alternating light/dark blue. I want to do lace next time on just a couple random fingers. I’m 58.

These are absolutely fine and that person who called them juvenile is a fun killer. Unless you work in healthcare or like food preparation (which you don’t), most employers don’t care about your nails beyond: are they clean and well kept?

Noooo! First of all these are so cute. For the interview thing, I honestly don’t think a guy will notice/care. I had my nails crazy glittery and my boss noticed after 3 days lol. Also always have my nails done so I’m not sure if he was just noticing that they keep changing every 1-2 weeks? 🤣
If a woman looks at your nails and decides not to hire you because they’re too bright/young/whatever she doesn’t sound like a fun person to work for anyway – you want to work with people who lift you up, not bring you down!

NO and NO. Love the nail art, these are super cute. At 55, you should be living at max capacity for whimsy and not giving a fuck what others think.

  7. I’d wear them and I am 51, but not for an interview. Job interviews are all about first impressions and this isn’t it. I’d wear a French manicure or muted neutral shade. I don’t want nails to be the thing I am remembered for in a job interview. But for daily casual wear, totally fine.

  8. It all depends on what field you’re interviewing for. Any semi conservative field, I would definitely tone it down to a full nude pink.
