I use a matte top coat before applying the design shape with the no wipe top coat, and then rubbing the chrome on it. What's going on? Is my chrome powder low quality? please help 😭

Try to wipe your nail with alcohol after the matte, then do your decoration, cure 30s and then do the chrome.

It helps to clean the matte with alcohol before applying any chrome adhesive (non wipe topcoat in your case). That or a higher quality matte or one designed specifically for chrome. Ive heard great reviews about the f(vex) matte topcoat and their chrome line in general

Matte top coat, clean with alcohol, do your design with a black gel polish, cure, rub chrome powder over design, top coat only your design, cure, clean excess chrome powder with alcohol.

Or matte top coat, clean with alcohol, mix black with a bit of top coat, draw out design, cure for 30 seconds, rub chrome powder, cure, clean excess chrome powder with alcohol.

isolated chrome humbled me for months before I figured this out. no other methods have ever worked.

    1. get your base color down + cure
    2. matte top coat – mine is GAOY
    3. cure
    4. alcohol wipe
    5. mix a drop of top coat with a drop of colored polish. i have good results with black so I just stick with that, idk, it doesn’t really matter.
    6. paint your design on
    7. FULLY cure
    8. chrome + dust aggressively
    9. super thin base coat over that if you’re nervous – I never had good results putting top coat right over chrome
    10. top coat of choice
