I have brown/Indian skin type and I find that 2-finger lengths of sunscreen (approx 1.25 ml) seems to be a bit too much quantity.

Even 1/2 of that amount (1-finger length of this Bondi-Sands chemical sunscreen) makes the face appear to have a thick oily layer/shiny/remains unabsorbed after even 1 hour of application, so clearly it's remaining unabsorbed. If I have to pat/blot it dry using the tissue after to remove unused/unaborbed sunscreen then why apply that much?

I don't end up applying sunscreen because of how oily/whitish it makes the face look.

This is also a strong SPF-50 so does that make it similarly effective in less quantity than a spf-30 or 15 sunscreen?

If I use this Australian Gold mineral sunscreen then even a small quantity of it makes it a whitewashed face. This is after trying several mineral sunscreens that blend with brown/indian skin and this came the closest.

  • How should one use these sunscreens? Can one use them in less quantity than 1.25ml with similar effectiveness?

  • How do people apply these sunscreens daily in that much quantity, and not look shiny/artificial?
