I'm hoping this is allowed here and won't get deleted!

I'm a long time nail biter/picker who finally quit and my nails looked great a year ago (pics 3 and 4). Within the last 6 months I've relapsed into biting and picking due to anxiety, so I started wearing press on (glue on) nails to stop the habit. It helped but now my nail beds look terrible and the white part of the nail is extending way down as shown in the photos (1 and 2) and doesn't "attach" at the side anymore.

Has anyone else dealt with this? How can I get my nails back to where they were a year ago?

Have you ever tried regular nail polish (lacquer?) It’s the least damaging way to do your own nails, and there are so many amazon indie brands out there right now that are a lot more fun than the drug store brands. I know I’ve seen lots of testimonials from people in r/redditlaqueristas who have successful kicked nail biting by using regular polish!
