I met a friend I haven’t seen in almost a year for lunch last week and I was so happy to see her – We ended up going to a nail supply store right around the corner from where we ate, and I picked up what I thought was going to be an eight dollar purchase, but it ended up being $30. It’s a “Chrome Liquid Aurora Kit.”
I purchased it because the gentleman at the store told me that it helps with getting chrome effects on nails and assured me that the product works with lacquer as well as gel.
I stupidly neglected to read the ingredients, but one of the ingredients is acetone. None of the instructions really make sense to me.
If anyone has any pointers, let me know – otherwise this is just on me for being stupid because I could clearly read the instructions and the ingredients on the outside before I made the purchase.

I found this online and it looks like it’s meant to be used over gel. It’s chrome powder suspended in solvent. Idk how this would work over regular nail polish, maybe a waterbased polish like DRK magic seal

Reading the instructions, it seems you don’t need to cure the product itself. The directions on regular chrome powder is for gel nails too but we all use it on lacquer. This looks like a liquid chrome that you paint on the nails polish (sticky base coat), let dry 10s, buff and top with water based to coat before topping with a regular top coat.
I’d love to see your results once you give it a try! Chrome powders have always intimidated me, a liquid seems much easier if it actually works well.
I guess you could try it over regular polish to check, but tbh at that price I’d take it back and say it was mis-sold.
You should be able to use this over regular polish too, no? I have chrome powders and I just use them on regular nail polish even though the instructions tell me to use them on gel. They probably work better with gel but they still work fine on my nail polish. I’d still try these out. Also, they’ll show up better on dark nail polish.
I just went on YouTube and searched Chrome Liquid Aurora Kit because I also had no idea. It actually looks really cool and fairly easy. I have no idea about gel vs regular polish though, I guess I didn’t pay enough attention but I think they used gel to demonstrate
