Polish is (of course) 2x coats of kisses to my X’s by Sassy Sauce with one coat of sally Hansens miracle gel top coat! I magnetized with the 5D spinny thing on the last slide!
I tried to follow all of the sage advice posted here by the many talented laqueristas that have come before me, but I still have a couple of questions about magnetics after this first attempt:
-
How many coats do you usually do?
-
Do you magnetize every coat?
-
Is each coat the same thickness?
I did one thin coat without magnetizing and then one thicker coat that I magnetized (and also magnetized top coat) but I wonder what everyone else’s advice is because I’ve seen much more dramatic results from the same polish! For each coat that I magnetized, I spun for 2 minutes. Still very happy with this first attempt but just reaching out to all of you very gifted magnetists for advice

I have a magnetic topper in my collection that looks similar to yours and it just does not react as well as my other magnetics.
Otherwise, some common trouble shooting tips would be to thin the polish so the magnetic pigment can move better and also shake your polish well as the pigment sinks to the bottom sometimes.
That’s a beautiful polish, and your nails look very pretty!
It sounds like you did everything right, but if you were going for a glass bead effect maybe it isn’t showing up that well in the photos.
I have found that for a good glass bead. I need to use the tallest spacer that that tool comes with, and I get a much BETTER glass bead if I put my horseshoe magnet on top. 🤷🏻♀️
