Heyy everyone! I'm a 28-year-old skincare addict with weak skin barrier and constant redness. When I pick products, the first thing I look for is how well they actually calm down redness. So today I'm sharing my honest reviews of all the barrier-focused serums I've used, focusing mainly on how effective they were for my redness.

My skin type: Thin, sensitive skin with a weak barrier and persistent redness. When I'm tired I easily get folliculitis and sometimes pustules. My skin reacts immediately to anything that doesn't agree with it. I tend to care more about texture than fancy ingredients.

When choosing serums or ampoules, these are the things I care about the most:

Does it actually improve redness? (Super important!)

Does it cause any breakouts?

Is it gentle enough for daily use?

Is the texture non-sticky?

Is it fragrance-free?

This is just my personal experience, so your results might be totally different. Skincare really reacts differently for everyone!

As you can probably tell, I'm always struggling with redness. If you have any good tips for calming it down, please share them with me!

If a lot of you find this helpful, I might do more reviews on creams, hair products, etc. later. Feel free to ask any questions about redness or products in the comments!

thank you for this! i have Cocokind barrier serum and noticed i’ve been breaking out more than usual. i’ll remove it and see if that’s the culprit.

  2. If you want to try another one, I highly recommend the Erborian Centella Red Serum. I haven’t tried your top picks listed here but I have tried the low-scoring ones you reviewed and felt similarly.

  3. The green bottle (forget the name) of Torriden’s helped with my redness quite a bit (dry, oily skin, 30s, male). Would be curious to see where you’d rank it. I might have to try bano next

  4. i don’t think the blue torriden is supposed to help with reducing redness because it’s just a hyaluronic acid product?
