Ok friends. Just spent way too long playing with the ✨fancy✨ magnets and now I’m on hour two of a failed experiment.

Next time will be “magnetize the top coat only” for sure. But for now, please tell me that not all top coats rewet the polish and there’s hope I don’t need to try and perfectly line up my magnets on the top coat. I lost two in battle and I don’t want to lose my other 8 and their crispy little lines. (I even marked my fingers where I held the magnetic in anticipation of this, but it obviously didn’t work 🫣)

I haven’t tried it yet but I bought DRK Seal Glaze in my last PPU order specifically to prevent smearing with magnetic polishes. It’s a water based topcoat that you don’t need to magnetize, and then you can use your QDTC after it dries also without magnetizing again.

You might try a water-based topcoat, as those aren’t supposed to reactivate the other layers of polish. I haven’t tried it for magnetics, but I’m planning to get some soon.

Try DRK Magic Effect and Seal Glaze. The Magic Effect rewets the polish, so you only have to magnetize the last coat of polish. Then you let it dry to the touch and float a coat of Seal Glaze. This seals in the pigment. You do not need to re magnetize. Let that fully dry, about 30 minutes, then apply QDTC. There is no need to re magnetize.

I’ve used these 2 products once with the cat eye pattern, and it really helped the pigment dispersement.

I have only done this once but was told how to do this by a friend who has been doing magnetics for years and often.
