I recently ordered some polish from Haunted Polish and selected a mystery polish color for my order. Ether (on the left) is what I added to cart and Apparition (on the right) is the mystery polish. These are the same right? ETA I meant Ether, not Seance in the title 🤦🏻♀️

Are either of them magnetic?
To me the base of ether seems more purple, but they are good dupes of each other!
*squints really hard* I’m sure there’s argument about some immensely miniscule difference between the two but honestly I’d be lowkey mad if I got a “mystery” polish that’s dupe for the polish I picked out for myself LOL
I also had both at one point and destashed Apparition because I came to the same conclusion. They aren’t exact (I think one has a slightly larger particle size than the other) but they are close enough.
My personal theory for this was that Apparition was so popular and the brand really wanted to make it permanently available, so Ether was created as a way of always being able to sell that shade.
You may also know that Haunted Polish is another brand from the maker of Ethereal Lacquer. One of their most popular shades was named Ether Dragon, and is similar in color to both of these (not identical and not as close as Ether is to Apparition, but still quite similar).
I can see a difference between the two. They are very similar though. I certainly wouldn’t buy both deliberately, but getting one as a mystery polish wouldn’t bother me at all.
Based on Haunted’s socials, it looks like Ether is intended to be more of a topper and Apparition is intended to be worn alone.
But also, no, I do not think there is any difference between these two. Lame.
