Hey! I just shared my Pyro mani a couple of days ago, ranting about a negative experience with a comment about my bitten nails, and all you Laqueristas gave me soooo much support and advice! Unfortunately like 30 mins after posting, I caught a 3 day ban by Reddit from all posting and voting! I said a quote from Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia (in the official subreddit, even) and it contained a word that triggered an autoban. I am soooo sorry I wasn’t able to respond to all the helpful and kind comments as they rolled in!
Since I had 3 days in timeout, I decided to give myself an at home mani for the first time EVER in my LIFE, as well as trying another one of my new ILNP lacquers.
Here’s where I fooked up. I didn’t look up clear how-to, I just went with instincts and what little info I knew already. I soaked, pushed my cuticles down, I lightly filed, I trimmed with my brand new cuticle clippers, I cleaned my hands before painting. Easy, right? Well, I learned some things. I know now that I went a little overboard cutting what i THOUGHT were my cuticles… I did some research, thankfully I don’t think I did any permanent damage. I watched a bunch of Salon Life videos when I was unhappy with how red the skin around my nails looked (me wondering my why no one else’s nails look like that in this sub) and realized I unintentionally gave myself a Russian manicure, oops. Caution now going forward!
Onto the color: I LOVED this the moment I saw it. My husband actually helped me choose it when I was narrowing down my buy list. It’s such a perfect Pacific Northwest vibe; like wet leaves on recently rained on cement in downtown Seattle. It’s definitely crelly enough that I had to do 4 coats to get the opacity i wanted. In the future I’ll probably put a solid grey coat on first just to save product. It’s so pretty, a cool grey with a hint of lavender, orangey-yellow flakies winking through the layers. It’s my new favorite.
