I recently got into the Laneige JuicePop thing. I like to choose products by color season, but couldn't find an existing reference other than how some of the shades are described ("cool deep brown", "vivid pinky coral", etc.). Does anyone know if there is an official one like there is for some things from Peripera? Anyways, I was checking the colors myself and decided to organize them into this chart in case it might be useful to anyone. I've done this for a few other lines a long time ago, and forgot how much fun it is!
A bit about the methodology:
-
I used Hue IQ to identify the color seasons. It's for clothes, but I find it works for me with makeup, especially with Asian beauty brands that are already very conscious of warmth/coolness and skin undertones. I find it's pretty accurate. Usually if a brand identifies a shade as "cool", "warm", "vivid", "deep", etc, it is classified into a corresponding season (i.e. Mocha Remix is described as a deep cool brown and, no surprise, it is a Dark Winter color).

The formula is buildable, so I sampled colors from the more concentrated and less concentrated parts of the pictured swatch. A lot of the time both the more concentrated and less concentrated samples would land in the same season (interesting how consistent this was!), but if I got multiple seasons, I put them in the chart multiple times in all of the seasons they belong in.
