The other day, u/EmirpSumitpon posted a dupe for Haunted By the Moonlight – BKL Quiet Strength topped by ANLAC Fuyu. I have all three, so I offered to swatch them side-by-side. I wasn’t able to get the darkness of By the Moonlight with just BKL & ANLAC, so I also tried it with my typical magnetic technique of layering it over a solid jelly. Here are the results, all with 2 layers of LynB ridge filler beneath and magnetized with the 5D Print Factory tool, no TC:

  • Ring finger: Three coats Cirque Fig Jelly, one coat Haunted By the Moonlight
  • Middle finger: Two coats By the Moonlight
  • Index finger: One coat BKL Quiet Strength, one coat ANLAC Fuyu
  • Thumb: Three coats Fig Jelly, one coat Quiet Strength, one coat Fuyu

As you can see, for me, layering the QS+Fuyu combination over a dark purple jelly is *very* close. The blue glitter in BtM is more scattered than Fuyu, and Fuyu adds a bit of milkiness that BtM doesn’t have, but these are quite minimal differences at a glance.

If three coats of jelly sounds like too much work, I do find that the solid under-layer technique works with cremes as well, just with maybe not as much depth.

The trick of course is that neither Quiet Strength nor Fuyu are much easier to come by that By the Moonlight. But if you have them already I can confirm that it is close enough to be basically identical. Mad props to u/EmirpSumitpon for coming up with it!

IMO, the real key is Fuyu, as they both have the same blue micro glitter that I haven’t seen in any other polish. If all you’re missing is Quiet Strength, I bet there are other polishes that could fill the same role. ILNP Teddy, maybe? IDK, I don’t actually have that one so I can’t compare.
