Hi! I've seen so many different ways to use magnets for different magnetic effects through this sub, so I wanted to make an overview with some illustrations. So far, these are the ones I have. I'm sure there are more. So to improve this overview, help me answer these questions:
-
what other techniques am I missing? (glass bead effect maybe?) please include a photo of the effect on the nail + how you hold your magnet and finger.
-
do you know how to use the last magnetic effect? I tried it but can't get it to work on me.
-
is this overview clear or should I change or add some things?

Yes! Do glass bead! (I don’t have a very good pic right now) and the last pic, to my knowledge, is the same as it would be if you put it on one pole of the horseshoe magnet: it’s uniformly the base color.
Are you looking to do special effect magnets too? Like wires to make hearts, ring magnets, fridge magnet decals, lightning magnets, groups of smaller magnets? Or just the standard bar and horseshoe?
ALSO on the mooncat wands, there is a little circle magnet, which pushes the magnetic pigment out in a circle away from it creating a dark spot under the circle and a halo around it of magnetized pigment.
This is a cool infographic !
I was just informed about a “reverse velvet” technique where you hold the horse shoe magnet sideways with your finger in it? Have other people heard of this? I don’t have a horse shoe magnet so I haven’t tried any of those techniques but that was a new one for me.
