Hey everyone! First time posting here, I wanted to share this for any Canadians dealing with YesStyle and DHL. Usually, they try to bully you into taking store credit for customs refunds, but I managed to get a direct refund to my PayPal. Here is exactly how it went down:
• Feb 17: Placed my order for $162.55 CAD
• Feb 23: Got hit with a $29.44 DHL fee for delivery here in Calgary. I paid it online right away so I could get my package
• Feb 23: I jumped on the YesStyle website chat. The rep kept insisting that a PayPal refund was impossible and they could only do store credit. I cited their policy to them and refused to accept store credit
• Feb 25: My order was delivered
• Mar 2: After waiting 5 business days with no sign of the money, I realized they were probably stalling because Jacky wasn’t too happy
• Mar 12: The refund finally hit my PayPal! I’m not sure if the dispute was necessary but I have let CIBC know that I’ve received my refund and have closed the dispute
If you’re in a similar boat, just know that you don’t need to accept a store credit if you don’t want to!
I attached the screenshots of my back and forth with the rep in case you need a script!
