The Bauhaus Art movement was part of the cultural shift in Germany between WWI and the Great Depression. Embracing and creating modern styles in art and architecture was right along side the center of western philosophy, intellectualism, theexpansion and blending of gender roles, fashion, jazz, and so much more…all coming to an end with the Great Depression and rise of fascism. The art style in its most basic form was centered on combining expression with manufacturing and function. Geometric clean lines, contrasting and vibrant coloring, round edges and clean lines in furniture, buildings, and even fonts used. We've all seen examples in your Doctors office lobby, and I had passed one at school that sparked my manicure mind, especiallywith the color pallette. Are there stamping plates for these styles? Absolutely. Did I have an edible and hyperfocus like a madman, freehanding these at midnight instead? Absolutely. 😝
