Has anyone bought this and have an opinion on how well it works? I’ve been on the fence for awhile – would honestly love to speed up the process when using magnetics but not sure how well this idea works in practice. I don’t know how feasible it is for me to paint my nails from within the magnetic stands.

Any real life experiences and thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Here’s a pic of the thing I’m talking about, for reference.

I’m considering making my own using a piece of styrofoam and embedding my magnets in it so I can place it *beneath* my fingers as I paint.

  2. I never get a good result when the magnet is underneath my fingers for a cateye so I’m sceptical. Would be so easy and cool if it worked well though!

I made something like this out of Legos and it definitely speeds up the process of magnetizing

I can see where it would be helpful for one or two nails at a time. I think attempting all five at once would be a trainwreck. You can see even in their promo pic the model has her thumb in there sideways because human hands aren’t built completely flat.

Painting your nail while it’s in the thing might be doable depending on your angle for the magnet, but in practice probably easier to paint the nail outside and then put it under.

The big benefit I’m seeing here is that it can hold the magnet over your nail without accidentally smooshing it into your wet polish. Something I’m not always successful with when attempting that by hand. If painting with the magnet under your finger doesn’t work for you, one or two of these could be a nice solution.  But not all five at once.

It works great but I can only do 4 fingers at a time. I do the thumb separately. It definitely speeds up cat eye. The first set I bought the magnets kept snapping together and falling down into my nail. They sent me a replacement set and it worked perfectly.

I bought these a couple months ago and I’ve really enjoyed them. I have arthritis and keeping the magnetic wand over my nails wasn’t working out too well before.

When I’m painting my own nails, it can be pretty hard to paint all of them at once but I can get 3 done at once easily. Painting the thumb is kinda hard, but I no longer accidentally hit the magnet against my nail when I’m not paying attention.

I think it’s great when I’m painting someone else’s nails. I do my sister’s nails a lot and this has made it a way quicker process. You can remove the magnet part completely then paint the nail before putting it back which helps.

  7. Amazon sells a set of small metal stands that you can stick a magnet to which are like $8 for three. Much more cost effective.
