this is holo taco Lust in Translation, velvetized. if you like flash reactive polish, you will love this shade. it looks flash reactive in real life, without the need of flash. just looking at my nails in regular indoor light they SHINE. the mauve jelly base color is cute, not really my typical color choice though.
i have tried all of the new holo magnetics now. all in all, im pretty happy with them. id say i deff didn't need every shade, and i will use some more than others, but i will do my best to pan them all, and look forward to trying out other magnetizing techniques.
the formula for each shade is really nice. they are fast drying, wich has pros and cons. pro: magnetizing is pretty quick and sets up nicely with each coat. cons: if you accidentally apply too little polish, you can end up with streaks that are noticeable when magnetized, so you just need to be careful and consistent. i was able to use toluene top coat with each shade, despite people saying to avoid with magnetics. i just magnetized as i applied the top coat. there was no pigment drift, and the effect stayed all week. each polish has really long wear- i experienced no chips, cracking, or peeling; i only ever chsnged the polish because it is my routine to do my nail care once a week. i could easily see myself getting 9 days out of a manicure with this line of magnetics. but please note i do thorough nail/cuticle prep, use a base coat and top coat, wear dishwashing gloves, use nail oil etc, so i reall take care of my nails as best as i can…so your milage may vary, but my experience has been very positive with the wear time.
also, a moment of silence for my pinky nail please, i broke her in half this past thursday bringing in groceries, so i cut them all down to the length you see here. another huge win for this polish line is, after i broke the pinky, i was able to file and shape her with last weeks manicure still on *as if it was gel*!!! i was able to clip the tips of all the other nails with the nail clippers, and then file and shape them, all with the polish still on!!!!!! polish did not chip off and i was able to get 3 more days of the manicure before changing them to this shade today, which you see here in the post. i just put an easy quick dry top coat on top so i could re-cap the nails. this is quite unheard of for me, usually if i try this, little chips happen and i either have to redo the whole manicure or at the very least touch up spots.
