they’re way too long which is my fault because i was doubting midway whether to tell her to make it shorter. i also don’t like the base color, it makes my skin look dull…

i’m too much of an introvert to complain to the salon,

i’m planning to go home and remove them. i also feel like it’s all my fault i got into this mess since i didn’t give her proper instructions.

i have an important meeting tomorrow, i work remotely and im meeting my coworkers for the first time

go home and remove them with acetone or keep them?

  1. The length you can fix…that base however ??? Yuk! Not my fave…so shorten them up and paint them something you love…also, I like to bring inspo pics so they get it right!!! No gaslighting!!! You might call
and speak to the salon owner rather than go in person and as the customer, you absolutely CAN call and let her know you are not happy…I can’t see anyone looking at the base and not thinking “….hmmmm that’s a little TOO pink!!” When you are in the right (which you are) you are in the right. Unless you looked at them and exclaimed “I LOVE THEM, THEY ARE PERFECT” (which I have a feeling you may have just thanked her, paid and left) then you are well within your right to call and ask for a refund or a free polish change

  2. Before removing, if you have the tools, try to paint a semi transparent nude color over it. It could soften the colors. Honestly, I would simply paint them over in a solid color, since I don’t like the French shape either.

  3. i would file them into an almond or oval instead of this weird medium coffin shape they gave you, would also let you adjust length obviously. see if you like them better and if not repolish them

  4. Even though they’re not perfect, no one at your work meeting will care. They look clean and presentable and that’s all that matters. Just get them redone when it’s convenient to.

  5. The salon can and should be able to fix them.

I know you might be self conscious in your meeting. While they’re not my ideal, I wouldn’t think twice about seeing them on someone else. Trying to doctor them yourself could result in something looking funky.

They actually look great minus the base color. The shape, length and french application look great. That’s a really interesting base they chose tho.

  7. To me not terrible but not..:can’t think of a word. The base color and French tip doesn’t look right and the length

The inspo pic looks nothing like what they gave you. I would call the manager of the salon and ask if they can fix them. French tips are super common and somebody at that salon should be able to pull it off better with the shape, color and even the tip part is off and way too thick.

The pink by itself is actually beautiful with your skin. I think the French tip is throwing it off but altogether like that it does not look good. It looks weird. But your hands are gorgeous!

I totally get the feeling of not wanting to seem overbearing on your nail tech, but you are paying for a service and it’s their job to get what you want. If there is something you don’t like you should tell them right away so they can fix it easily. They might charge a fee if you go back now, and it would also be a waste of money to remove it all. Try filing the white tips off? I think the pink looks decent as a solid color.

  11. I hate them too…the shape is weird. The French isn’t bad but the base color doesn’t look good. I feel like you’re 100% justified in wanting to take these off. Maybe you could overnight some cute press ons from Amazon and pop those on for your meeting? BTArtBox makes some pretty good ones.

  12. I think filing them down to make the white part less thick and adding a sheer nude or white over it would make it way way better and that’s a lot healthier than removing them completely

That is toooooo warm of a pink for just about any skin tone (from a pink toned ginger who likes a warm pink base for French)
