Mine is similar to yours but purple, it’s an ombré effect, but I do want to go back to French tips myself..

I think the problem is when use niche terms for nail trends like “old money” french, or I remember the “glazed donut” nails trend. Different people will interpret that differently! I saw some really weird glazed donut nails, but this isn’t too bad. Old money to some could mean Carmella Soprano.

I googled it and nothing like yours popped up but a ton of tiktoks and pictures of really classy, thin French tips came up…

this is most definitely not a French mani – more like an ombré effect. Saying that, those still are really cute nails !!

You should try French tip with funny bunny, that’s my go to 🙂 ombré is not it, and go to a Russian manicurist if you can cause your nails are super thicc & they’ll have your cuticles looking fab (not my picture)
Most old money people I know barely wear polish but maybe this is an aesthetic I’m unfamiliar with?

Did you show them a picture first? I don’t think most people would know what that is by the name unless you did.

I think there’s a bit too much white, and the pink isn’t complimentary to your skin tone. Maybe next time ask for a more tapered almond, with a deeper pink and less harsh white! Here’s an example pic of what I mean, as you can see I have a very deep skin tone but the “pink” compliments that! 🙂
I would always use an inspo pic. The words we use to describe things can be interpreted a lot of different ways.

I say this in the nicest way possible: next time just show them a pic of what you want instead of thinking they understand what “old money french” means.

It’s cute! But definitely ombré I feel like old money French is a classic French not blended like this
I would not call this a French manicure. But it’s a really pretty ombre!
This is baby boomer style, your tech may have gotten confused when she heard old😬
I think your nails are more ombré. You need less white.
Something like this is more your ideal style. Classic French tips.
