Hey there, I've been doing my own nails for 6 months now and my mom compliments them all the time while also saying her nails are ugly, but I never understood what she means? What is ugly to her? And after a short research I think she just doesn't like her short nails beds, but bare with me, I had no idea there were types of nails beds to begin with. So now I'm curious if I have normal nail beds? Or are they short as well? How can one tell?

No, yours are deep. I wish mine were that deep! Obviously, it’s a matter of opinion, but a lot of people like deep nail beds. I wish mine were deeper because I have to keep my nails short. If my nail beds were deeper, I’d have more nail to paint without the nails extending past the end of my fingers. My piano hobby and my nail painting hobby really don’t go well together. 😕 I’ve actually been trying to push my nail beds back in an effort to make them deeper! Not sure if it’s working.🤔
You definitely don’t have short nail beds. Your natural nails are gorgeous. How lucky to have the option to do nothing more than a sheer nude color.
I used to have short nail beds when I cut my nails regularly. Once I actually started growing my nails out, they’ve lengthened. Maybe your mom can do something similar, if the nail bed is what’s bothering her?
