Spent MANY hours on this last night and this afternoon lmao. I've had this idea in mind for a long time and i was really hoping to execute it better than i did but also… i do Not own the polishes i would have needed for this effect haha. Vietnamese mother-of-pearl lacquer art inspired nails to celebrate this part of my heritage, inspired by a specific piece of art I've always loved, that I got handed down by my grandma.
Vietnamese lacquer art is so beautiful and it comes in many different looks and techniques, and i'd love to try and do nails inspired by the more reddish looking paintings and maybe some eggshell looks, but this black-and-pearl look has always been so gorgeous to me.
I think the base would look much better with maybe some opal/iridescent flakies, a more grey base and/or a grey or black and white fine particle magnetic but alas! i don't have that. I'd love to see someone else take on the challenge though!!

So lovely!
This is an awesome way to translate cultural art into nail art! I love it.
