Why yes, I did drop an entire nail brush into my acetone while painting my daughter’s toes, and yes it did start immediately dissolving and turned the whole bottle pink before I had a chance to rescue it. Good thing I have to run to the store tomorrow anyway! (And yes, I normally pour acetone into the cap and dip my cleanup brush into that, but I just needed a tiny bit and here we are.)

OMG I HAVE DONE THIS BEFORE!! You are definitely not alone, it is SO easy to do. Its always when I need a TINY bit too, fuck sake. 😭

I hope that the rest of your day is wonderful. We will remember your brush for the years to come, and the noble sacrifice it’s paint job made 🙏

I have a naked brush from this exact situation lol 😂

lol I have also done this. Had to pour the whole bottle into a large glass, fish out the brush, and then funnel the acetone back into the bottle. (It still worked, even being cloudy from the paint! Not sure if that added any unfriendly chemicals though 😬)

  4. Normally, I end up knocking the whole bottle over and having to panic clean up acetone. Hopefully the acetone will still work.

  5. That particular bottle is impooossssible to get tools out of. One time I had to relocate the acetone and cut the bottle in half to get my thingy out.
