Hey laqueristas,

I love the shade Aim to Breeze by KBShimmer. The only thing is is that it is a VERY slow drying jelly polish. Jelly polish is best in layered coats, so I'm just trying to find a good technique to be able to use this beauty successfully.

I wanted to know if anyone has any experience using this specific shade and how to avoid dents in supposed to already be cured nail polish.

I used ILNP lockup base coat, 4 thin coats of Aim to Breeze, about 25 min in between each coat. Topped off with KBShimmer fast drying polish Clearly on Top.

You might be using too many coats. What does it look like after three coats?

Edit: I don’t bother drying in between layers. The quick dry top coat re-wets all the layers anyway, so all I was doing is adding time to my mani.

  2. I have this shade (mine is almost two years old and i’ve never added thinner). I also use ilnp lockup and then do two medium-thick coats of Aim To Breeze with less than one minute of dry time between them, and then use glisten and glow top coat with zero denting after an hour. I think using two coats instead of 4 might help even if they are a bit thicker! good luck 🙂

In case you would prefer a cream formulation for the opacity, Emily de Molly have a polish that is VERY similar, but full coverage 💜

I know you didn’t ask for a cream dupe but I thought I would mention it just in case you are finding a jelly too sheer. You could always use the opaque as a base and the jelly on top, so you’ll have the closest mani possible to this level of opacity without needing so many layers?

Anyway, I hope this might help, I think this colour looks beautiful on you!
