I was really psyched about the big changes coming to Lights Lacquer, it got hyped up for a while on Instagram, but what we actually got was… disappointing. Don't get me wrong, these are gorgeous shades, but they're extremely close dupes to polishes that have only recently disappeared from the store or are still in stock. I don't need *any* of them because I've already purchased extremely similar ones from them pretty recently.

I'm just a bit salty about it and wanted to complain. I hope the next release offers something fresher. Or brings back some shades we haven't been able to purchase in a while.

Ha you are so right! It seems like they are always getting rid of colors (or I guess they’re not permanent in the first place?) and then bringing back something similar. They should just commit to a permanent line (I guess that’s what this launch is). I got really into them when I was just getting into polish and wanted to get a lot of cremes. I generally like their cremes and love their brush (and bottle), and the prices used to be pretty good with sales but I know they raised them recently. Now that I have plenty of cremes and also have gotten more into boutique and indie brands, their new launches always seem pretty boring to me. And that’s coming from someone who loves cremes!

Those are significantly different enough to be considered completely different shades. If I was in a salon picking polishes, those are not matches.

My guess is they do not have access to the same ingredients to make those exact shades they previously had. So they made new polish names with a very similar colour profile in order to not to swindle people by messing with the original colour name. You know this happens with other brands, except  they just change the formula but and keep the name and it frustrates people because it’s not the same. They’re avoiding that.
