Ah, the Madam Zeroni method. It isn’t just happenstance you get eczema, asthma, or priapism. It is the equivalent of a generational curse….and this time you break it by declaring yourself fearless to the lord instead of carrying an old woman up a mountain. Sweet.

I don’t know if it’s a grift exactly, but people have held similar sentiments for a long time.
They want to be able to blame others misfortune on them so they can convince themselves that they have the power to stop it happening to them.
