I wanted something BRIGHT and happy so I started reaching for sparkly yellows. Something about January is making me lean into my Millennial upbringing 😛 and we grew up with a resurgence of 60’s and 70’s design (likenwe just had with 90’s and 00’s now 💀) so the iconic smiley face was everywhere…then we brought out emoticons on AIM and really texting that evolved into modern emojis in Japan, so the smiley face is tied to our generation all the way 🙂🙂🙂
Now don’t let this mani fool you, it looks simple, and took forever lol. I reverse stamped, used two mildly different hues of yellow to get a little bit more texture and contrast, and then Freehand cleaned up over every single one after stamping it on. Tedious due to my own annoying expectations, but a fun and bright way to decompress after the most Monday of Mondays back at work 🤪
