Paid $50 for this – it was my first time ever, got dip with what I guess was a gel top coat because she had me use the UV lights. She didn't push back my cuticles and the polish is all uneven around the edges. The nails are also shaped differently. Makes me never want to do it again. What can I say or ask for next time to improve the experience?

It definitely doesn’t look like especially professional work. The material is coming up too close to the proximal nail fold. Cuticles should have been removed and the pnf pushed back. If there is cuticle under that product, unfortunately it will lift very early. I wouldn’t give up on getting your nails done, but probably don’t see this person again, at least not until they have a lot more experience if they’re early career.
They are not bad. I’ve seen worse on here yet try different salon maybe speak to a friend for recommendations
