Been playing with different nail polishes for about the last six months now…and been a chronic nail biter for about as many years as I can remember being alive. I don't know if I'll be able to kick the habit – best I've been able to do so far is about a week – but I'm hoping if I post here every month or so, maybe that will be some extra motivation. Whatever tricks any of y'all recovered nail-biters might have to suggest will be wholeheartedly welcomed, but if nothing else, maybe the accountability to random internet strangers will help.
Nothing terribly impressive here, but product used includes: Holo Taco base coat (one layer), Mooncat Illusionist (three coats, magnetized each layer for 1:30 using the wand), Mooncat Speed Demon top coat (one layer, magnetized for 1:30)

Very pretty!! I was a lifelong nail biter up until 5 years ago. What helped me quit was realizing that I wasn’t doing it because of anxiety (as people have always told me my whole life…), but because I am just a fidgety person and need to find other ways to channel the fidgety energy. What also caused me to quit was seeing another woman on the subway aggressively biting her nails – honestly I just couldn’t believe that that’s what I looked like when I was doing it, so the visual of that helped me stay focused on quitting. Silly and shallow, but it did have an impact. I still have to use the bad tasting nail polish from time to time when I catch myself slipping up but have only ruined my nails by biting a handful of times in the 5 years.
God I love illusionist, and that cat eye is crisp! Wishing you a happy manicure internet stranger.
You’ve got this OP!! I used to pick my nails, and sometimes the habit comes back…but nowhere near where it used to be. Turning my nails into a type of self-care really helped me look at it differently
I was also a chronic nailbiter since my early teens! Painting my nails regularly has managed to break me of the habit at least for now. My nails are still fragile and I think they’re just stuck that way, but they look the best they have as long as I can remember. Don’t give up!
Well you’ve actually have the hard part out of the way already, getting a crisp cateye. The rest of it should go swimmingly. Wishing you luck with growing them. Remember your cuticle oil :3
Awesome
