I posted the first two photos on a different sub, and some low life commented "ugly rings and ugly nails".
I was a life long nail biter and managed to stop when I got obsessed with nail polishes. I paint them myself, they are my natural nails, and I always aimed for "decent", not perfect. But the comment bothered me more than it should have.
The dark nails are how I did them today, trying to be more careful. There's nothing too wrong, right?

Both sets were done with a mini nail polish kit I got from target last year, called Mini Holler and Glow. Lighter set is color Snow Way, and darker is Yuletide Yay.
I also use seche vite top coat
