Mood Ring Magnetized Five Ways

Cirque Colors’ Mood Ring will be my next manicure but I wanted to swatch a few different options for magnetizing it before I commit to a method. Here is what I did for each nail. I’ll post a pic in the comments. For this swatch, I used three coats of Mood Ring. No base or top coats.

Pinky. I call this the “push down” method. I used a 30 lb telescoping pickup magnet hovered at/slightly above the nail tip to push the magnetic particles down toward the cuticle.

Ring. Velvetized with a 30 lb horseshoe.

Middle. Glass bead using a 30 lb horseshoe attached to an automatic wind chime.

Index. What do we call this one? Diagonal velvet? An 18 lb neodymium bar magnet diagonally set on a 30 lb horseshoe magnet. Note: this is what I’ll be going with for the actual manicure.

Thumb. Tiny bead using the method demonstrated by u/ProfMooody, which was new to me. Used an 18 lb neodymium bar magnet.
