If I don’t wear clear top coats then they chip a lot easier, I’d think so…

Don’t do it! My nails are naturally as beautiful and healthy as yours and whenever I get any sort of gel (bio, shellac, acrylic) it absolutely kills my nails. I had them done for the first time in a year last month and when they took it off (even professionally) my nails were so brittle I had to cut them right down and two of them broke, they NEVER break 😭 I just use a clear nail polish, or whatever polish I am feeling on the day! When they get to this length they’re more likely to break anyway, just cut them down a little
