That’s butchered af. The “cuticle excuse” might be due to different skin and nail condition and genetics for different ethnicities. That varies, just as hair types. Anyway… That’s not ok. Get that disinfected really good and carefully.

As others have mentioned, this needs thorough cleaning, if you are on holiday I would buy some anti bacterial handwash and waterproof plasters.
