[ my usual disclaimer to please ignore my disintegrating 10 hour old eye makeup bc my memory doesn’t function till it’s time to take everything off ]
**brand ; OLENS**
**pattern ; RUSSIAN SMOKY**
**shade ; OLIVE**
g.dia ; 13.3mm
price ; USD21 for 5 pairs of dailies
lighting ; direct or indirect evening sunlight
for reference i have classic dark brown east asian eyes, with ~12.8-13mm diameter; you can see my natural colour peeking through the lens near the pupil.
russian smoky olive is a lovely light-medium cooler green lens with some brown blending at the pupil and a darker olive limbal ring. it’s quite an opaque lens offering obvious colour change on my dark irises, but with a very soft pattern that gives it its dreamy smoky effect with a gentle greyed olive tone, reminiscent of glossy jade pearls irl. it does have a bit of a subtle blooming pattern. because of the light colour, on dark eyes the enlarged pupil hole is more obvious; personally im not a huge fan, but the dilated dolly pupil look is considered cute. overall tho, i have to say it’s a gorgeous lens that’s gotten multiple compliments every single time. i can see why it’s a bestseller for fairytale green eyes.
the daily lens is thinner than the monthly lens and is very easy to apply and remove, and is super comfortable to wear; ive worn it up to 14h so far and never felt it in my eyes. with a g.dia of 13.3mm, it’s subtly enlarging on my eyes. in the middle frame you can see a little sliver of how the lens looks over my sclera due to the position of the left eye.
the third image is a comparison of scandi olive (top) to smoky olive (bottom).
