I’ve been following recommendations for prep and products but still find my manicure chips within the day – these are my nails I painted yesterday. After a shower or typing they are chipped and rarely last more than 3 days without massive cracks and chips. I use either orly bonder or seche vite base coat, OPI or Essie (a few random other brands as well but 90% are OPI or Essie) and seche vite top coat. I try to cap my edges but my nails are pretty short so it’s hard to not get it over my skin. I prep by buffing and then wiping with rubbing alcohol.
Any other tips? My nails are very thin so maybe I’m just doomed to chipped nails forever? I get professional gel manicures maybe once a year for events but generally like to avoid for regular manicures
