Cat eye: neodymium magnet bar
Velvet: 22 lb pull horseshoe mag
Glass bead: glass bead tool from 5d print shop with horseshoe placed on top.

Process:
base coat: all fingers at once. Wait like 1 minute
Color coat one: shake bottle. Paint all fingers at once. Thin coat. Don’t wait before next coat.
Color coat two: Paint all fingers at once. Thin coats.

From now on: work one finger at time:
1. Slightly thicker layer of polish. Wait 60-90 seconds, float on QDTC of choice, immediately get under a magnet, keep magnet on for 1-3 minutes.
2. Next finger!
3. Repeat!

  1. I had genuinely just wondered after last week’s mani whether I could get away with just magnetizing after top coat, since it re-wets everything significantly enough to make magnetizing top coat necessary! So glad to have some evidence to back up the theory when I try with my next magnet mani! Question: during that 60-90 seconds before putting top coat on, did you magnetize at all? Or truly just after applying the QDTC itself?

  2. I’ll have to try it like this next time! I magnetize like 1.5 times? I leave the last layer of polish (second coat for me) in the u magnet for 30-45 seconds and paint each nail one at a time then when I come back around with top coat I paint each nail in the magnet but only leave it there for a few seconds. No idea why I haven’t been doing polish and top coat together!
