I bought this bad boy compulsively after seeing an camellia(tsubaki), I thought it was Oshimatsubaki's, but after checking again I see the two are extremely similar, but not the same. Instead this is "kurobara".
I saw they had a page and their line is similar too.
Is it a reginal difference where in USA is Oshimatsubaki and in JAPAN is Kurobara? Or is Oshimatsubaki the name of the line and not the company behind it?
Either way, this is very good, the translated note said to wash it off, but I'm very tempted to just leave a little on as a leave-in. Or put some after diffusing my hair.
Anyway, if you have curly, dense, thick hair that's sturbbornly low porosity and FIZZY, this is your call, camellia japonica didn't solve all of my problems (frizz 😭😭) but it was close, so I think it's a good ingredient… it left my hair shiny indeed, it has a plant like smell, I would compare it to roses, and it feels very soft, I really like it! 🙏 but still have a long way to go with this crazy frizz, I would say it may not help for frizz but my hair is frizz final boss so Idk 💀

Camelia oil is an extremely common ingredient in Japan, especially in haircare products. Lots of brands use it.
You just bought a similar product made by a different brand. Kurobara (Black Rose) is the brand name, and they seem to make a bunch of products based on different botanicals.
they are two different brands; both brands’ products contain tsubaki
Where to buy the products in Japan? Is there a skin care site or store? Tokyo or Kyoto better?
