Hi, everyone, I came across a nail art tutorial and I'm wondering, what's the name for the translucent red gel polish that is going on top of the black/silver nail art underneath, so the black design shines through. Is that what they call "jelly" (as opposed to "gel") nail polish?
It’s any red jelly polish. This looks like a gel version but jellies come in both lacquer and gel

‘Gel’ is any polish that is cured by UV/LED lamps. ‘Jelly’ is a type of transluscent polish, and can be either gel polish or air-dry polish.
This transluscent polish is probably a glass polish. They are more transluscent than jellies, usually.

It’s still gel polish. Yes it’s a jelly type polish though. There are also gels called syrups that are also translucent gel. Personally I think syrups should be used for gel that is more pigmented than jellies, but in reality syrups and jellies get switch interchangeably based on what’s trending at the time.
