I need help!

I am no stranger to glitter and usually a couple of coats of sally Hansen red bottle will smooth everything.

However, it seems like this bees knees glitter is SO THICK.

The first photo is without top coat.
The second photo is after two thick coats of sally Hansen, one thick coat of essie gel setter and another coat of sally hansen.
It looked like it did the job at first, but it’s been 30 minutes and the texture is coming through as the top coat layers further dry.

Any advice on how to deal with type of glitter? Is this a poor product from bees knees? Again, I have cheap glitter toppers with very visually similar effects that don’t have this horrible texture.

Get a glitter grabber top coat! I use KB Shimmer Smooth Moves. It’ll smooth that over and you can top with the SH too.

It seems counterintuitive, but doing an extra coat of the polish can also help smooth out that glitter texture. But yes, also seconding the recommendation for a glitter smoothing tip coat layer before the final QDTC layer.

This type of glitter is called reflective glitter and any polish with it will have similar results especially if there’s a lot of it. You can see the difference in how the glitter looks if you shine a bright direct light on it, like a flashlight.
Like other users said a glitter smoothing top coat will make them look so much better.

  4. this happened to me a couple weeks ago, what ended up working was letting it cure over 24 hours and then gently buffing it and adding a final layer of top coat!

  5. How many layers of polish did you do? When I’ve worn this shade I’ve done 2-3 layers and haven’t really noticed a texture issue.
