For example, I love the color yellow. It’s happy and pretty, and it’s a color that I look great in (love my yellow dress). But I really, really don’t like yellow nail polish. Something about it just rubs me the wrong way. Gold and copper are fine, but yellow… I just can’t wrap my head around yellow as a nail polish.
What about you? Do you like a color that you hate as a nail polish?
Bonus pic: My favorite color is green and I am just now getting around to green polish (current mani is ILNP Good Fortune with Mooncat base and topcoat).
Bonus point (for funsie): Would love if someone had a good yellow recommendation. Trust me, I’ve looked and nothing has spoken to me, but I always love a polish rec.

green on me 😭 i kept thinking of glinda and shrek last time i used green but it looks beautiful on you!
My fave color is green and I can’t wear it. I can’t wear yellow or peach pink. Peach pink looks like washed up orange on me. Yet mustard colors and some specific shades of green are fine. They just either make me look dead or bloody red. It’s so weird. But I can wear all the purples. And I do! It’s not that I hate it in a Polish, it’s that I hate it against my skin.
I’m in love with all the gorgeously glittery, color-shifting polishes out there, and I own a few, but the only polishes that I think actually look good on me are neutral cremes. I actually just posted about how I tried ILNP’s Bishop (a really beautiful bluish/greenish/orangeish gold) and it looks bad on me!
Searingly bright hot pink is my absolute fave but it looks terrible on me 😭😭
Green and black on myself. I can somehow like it on others
My favorite colors irl are typically some kind of green blue or blue green. Any kind of green blue mixture looks good on me as clothing. But more than a few don’t flatter my nails. I’ve had GB/BG polishes that have made me want to yeet my toes. Like literally irrationally angry until I remove the polish. Conversely red is probably my least worn or used for home decoration color but it generally looks great on my nails and I have a decent amount of reds.
Pinkish purples 💔 Look awful on me! But I love wearing pinks and other purples. Weird how the intersection of the two colors don’t work for me!

IRL I love yellow, orange, and light pink — but they don’t look great on my skin tone imo!! I’ve found I really like contrast- so either dark colors or bright/bold colors 🙂
