I’ll explain what I’m trying to do and what these photos are:
- The first photo is from the cirque website of their decadent desserts duo, which is only available with a $75 purchase which I can’t really justify right now. I would happily pay full price to buy the black currant shade, but since that’s not an option, I’m trying to dupe it.
A friend suggested I try the Sally Hansen Insta dri line.

The second photo is a swatch of black currant, which I’m trying to re-create.

The third photo shows “quartz queen” and “chrome zone” from the Crystal and Holo glow lines respectively w swatch sticks in front.
From left to right, the swatch sticks show:
2 coats of just QQ
3 coats of just chrome zone
3 coats of chrome zone w one coat of QQ on top
1 coat black w one coat of chrome zone over it
1 coat black w one coat of QQ over it
I feel the very last swatch stick/combo is the closest dupe.
Is it exactly like what I see in the cirque pictures? I don’t think so but at a fraction of the price I think it’s well worth it and I am very happy with both of these polishes but would love your thoughts. The pink shade is obviously quite different than what’s in the cirque duo but I actually much prefer the Sally Hansen shade.
