As above…I've started doing my nails in the CAR so I'm strapped in and can't move…still managed this today. I'm trying to be positive telling myself that it just means more practice redoing that nail…but I'm truthfully just so pissed with myself ! Thanks all and thank you for the beautiful inspirational pics on here…I love dreaming of the day I can be skilled like you are!
Product list, I didn't get as far as top coat but the base coat is seche vite and the colour is Barry M.

QDTC is your friend. BTW, to fix a smudge, use Tyler”s Trinkets Magic Elixer or DRK’s Seal Glaze, which rewets the polish disappearing the smudge.
quick dry top coat will help the whole manicure dry faster. Also sometimes doing thinner layers will help. Polish can also take longer to dry if it’s hot or humid. Doing nails in the car seems difficult, like where do you set things down so they won’t spill and can be easily reached and the fumes seem like it would be problematic 😵💫 Though I do my nails on the flat arm rest of my couch or sometimes use a small lap desk on the couch at night while I watch tv lol.
For me I get all my supplies out, make sure my hair is up, pajamas on, have peed, have a drink or snack or anything I might want already set out before I start. I’ll paint a layer of polish on each finger, by the time I’m done the 10th the first is ready for it’s next coat. If it’s a thicker polish I might wait 5-10 minutes between coats but not usually needed. After painting I do any cleanup needed then apply my quick dry top coat (I use one from cracked polish but there’s tons of options).
When top coat is finished I try to avoid using my hands much for at least 15-30 minutes. Generally by then they’re dry to the touch and I can apply some cuticle oil and move around and do some low nail impact things. Ideally I’ll finish in time to just let them dry while I watch tv for about an hour and then go to bed.
I use the time between waiting for coats to dry to get my steps in! I just run or jog in place lol it helps the time go by. Or else just sit and watch a movie lol
I don’t. I used the quickest drying QDTC I can find, wave my hands around for as long as I can get away with acting helpless and hope for the best 🤣
Wait you have strapped yourself into your car to avoid messing up your mani?? That is ADORABLE levels of effort, omg!! And may QDTC find you asap!!
Drying spray or drops will change your life! There’s usually always a can of drying spray at Marshall’s for $3 and lasts a long time.
I just do my nails while watching YouTube videos or TV so I don’t have a reason to get up and do anything else. Or while gaming. Surprisingly, holding a gamepad I have never smudged my nail polish.
