I bought the Muji oil cleanser in Japan last year and I loved it. Where i’m from there’s no Muji so recently when a friend went to the US i asked her to buy me a bottle for when mine runs out.
I just noticed how different they are in color, and when i tested the new bottle I felt it was a lot harder to remove my mascara than with the older bottle.
Is this a location thing, like are they selling different formulas in different locations? Or did Muji change their formula for the cleansing oil? in either case, that sucks and I just bought a big ass bottle lol. Thankfully it doesn’t appear to have broken me out.

They did change the formula recently, but yours looks like the old packaging. The smaller bottle says “mild oil cleansing” while the bigger one says “oil cleansing” but then indicates that it’s for sensitive skin.
The clear one is mild cleansing oil and yellow one is cleansing oil for sensitive skin. You can find them online from countries that have Muji to compare ingredients.
Yes unfortunately the muji cleansing oil has been reformulated and now has some added fragrance and essential oils. Someone made a post here about how a lot of Japanese reviews on the muji website do not like it.
