Hopefully this is the right sub, but this is the end result of soaking off my press ons. 2 broken nails and glue residue that won’t come off. It took me 1 hour to get them off. Am I doing the removal process wrong? Soaked in pure acetone with warm water and used a tool (pictured).

Oh my god did you pull them off??
you’re treating your press ons like they’re acrylic/gel nails 🥹 this hurts my heart
you’re supposed to lift the edges in water

YES YOU DID
Oh my god yes, it looks like a wild animal chewed them off.
They look like when I remove mine lol so I’d say yes
Ahh, this is why I switched to press-on tabs. Some of the glues are hard to remove even following instructions.
Oh my god 😭😭 destroyed nails for the next three months
As someone who does this as well, yes you did. Try soaking them off. I found that an acetone-soaked cotton ball/pad wrapped in foil for 10-15 minutes works great.
I just soak mine in warm water, soap, and a skin safe oil. Then i start gently lifting the edges, letting it soak, lifting some more, letting it soak. Until they just lift right off. I have a tiny bit of glue residue but I can gently buff it off.
Wait so just to clarify- did you MIX the water and acetone or have a warm water bath for your acetone you were soaking them in?
