Learning to do my own nails. Any advice appreciated

Hi! Just learning to do my own nails at home, and I would appreciate some advice.
I got a kit to do my own nails a while ago (lamp + lacquers + electronic nail drill) but I have not really gotten into it much since a few weeks ago.
I try to have fun / cute nails since I work in a school. I used to get them professionally done, but since it is quite expensive I’ve decided to do it myself, stick to simple cute colour combinations, so I can chance them every couple weeks, keep them clean (working with children that is a priority for me, can’t wear them super long and the shape needs to be simple to maintain) and express my personality through them.
Any advice would me much appreciated. Pictures of the last couple of sets I did on myself for reference.
