I’ve always had super short nails (very little to almost no free edge). Now my free edge is several millimeters long. I like it, but I do have a desk job and I know these will start getting difficult to type with at some point.
So what’s your terminal length?

I’m just learning! My nails are the longest they’ve ever been so interested to see what others say. I learned to type quickly with them long, but taking my contacts out?! Ugh. Had to start filing my thumb & index finger on my right hand a few mm shorter right away
Mine are usually just at or very slightly past my fingertips, [this](https://imgur.com/a/elN6SME) is about how they usually look. I’m on a computer most of the time for work + gaming after and if they get any longer they start bugging me.
Also side note I love your mouse & keyboard combo, those colors are so fun!
Mine are about 1/4″ past my fingertips and this is about the max. It’s actually too long for my laptop keyboard (keep hitting wrong keys) but fine for my ergo keyboard.
I’m still trying to figure out mine, my gaming keyboard already has some of the keys scratched away 😭

I think I’ll have to file mine down a few more mm, I’ve lost the ability to type without looking at my keyboard at this length due to all the typos I’m making
I’m comfortable typing with about 1/4-1/3in/7mm of free edge. I could probably go a liiiittle longer and be okay, but it would definitely start feeling more cumbersome if they were like 1/2in. I use the pads of my fingers rather than the tips though, so the nails don’t really get in the way at this length.
1/4” past my fingertip. I’d love them longer to see how I’d fare at my keyboard, but the universe usually has other plans lol.
Edit to add: I love everything about your pic. That ring especially is lovely!
I’m at like 1/4-1/3 inch and I am struggglllinngg right now. But I’ve also got a very low profile keyboard which I don’t think is helping me
I’ve transitioned to short, soft squares. Can’t type otherwise.
I’m a desk gremlin and a pianist, and once my nails get between 1/8″ and 1/4″ past my fingertips, they have to go as typing/playing starts to hurt after a while at that length.
I only have a few millimeters of free edge because of this but my nail beds are long so it looks like they are longer

This is honestly trending towards almost too long but I’m managing.

This is my fav length
3/8ths of an inch, and I recently got a set of keyboard riser buttons. They are great, wish I got them sooner.

I think I’m at my limit already

… I keep accidentally typing numbers in with words and spell check isn’t picking them up! Bummer, I wanted to keep going! 😭😂
My nails are looooong. lol Not as long as some ladies. I’ve gotten used to typing with 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch length. W-A-S-D keys on my keyboard have little divots in them from gaming with long nails. My partner hates my keyboard because I get the letters on the front side (so I can’t wear them off) and my number and side keys I replaced with a Cthulu themed set of clear keys (as seen in the photo).
I know they make risers you can stick to keyboards that’s supposed to help if you have long acrylics or long nails, but I’ve never tested them to see if they are worth it.

Right about here. One of them is going to break any day now 😅

Basically this, my index finger nails are wonky on both hands and start tearing off/ growing curled any longer. I already had to file the index down anorter than the rest

This is the longest I’ve ever gone (press-on’s with ILNP jumping puddles) and it was way too hard to type. Also, do you have Mooncat’s melon berry?? It looks like it was made for you!

No polish today but this is about as long as I can go without them making it hard to type!

My free edge is about 3/4″.
As you can see from my sideways mouse I spend my entire workday on the computer, I work with massive piles of data.
Girl I’m obsessed with this set up. The colors the nails is it all of it. Kudos.
I’m a long nail girlie to be honest and I leverage voice to text a lot more to keep my nails from the pounding keys

Currently struggling with keyboards and any PC gaming 🤣 but I love them.

So I broke my pinky nail recently, but my nails all tend to be the same length except for my thumb because I play games. Keyboard in the back for reference of how scratched up it has become. I dread the day I have to return the equipment to my company and they question the scratch marks LOL
Mine were always kept just longer than my finger tip. Then I retired, and grew them long! Now I’m learning guitar, so one hand is just past my fingertips, the other hand slightly longer.
