This is the last polish I bought from Mooncat’s Danes Macarbe collection and when I tell you, i went through hell with this polish to get this result. I first tried this polish two weeks ago and struggled so much trying to achieve the magnetic effect i wanted. i wanted to velvet some nails, use the rectangular bar for others and also kinda reverse magnetize it where you would see just the black part of the polish. I redid my nails twice before giving up and switching to a different polish.
So this weekend with halloween coming up I wanted to try this polish again and I was only going get the velvet effect and the straight line with the rectangular bar. But when i did the manicure again i just didn’t like its Turns out i just don’t like the silver effect that happens when you velvetize the nail. So after many trials and tribulations I just ended up using the rectangular bar and ended up with this manicure which i love!
In terms of the polish application, it’s very easy to use thin coats with this polish. It reminds me of clair de lune from this collection in terms of formula and I really like it. The magnetic effect is very strong but when the magnetic effect disperses the line itself is a very sharp silver and the surrounding area is grayish. It reminds me of space. Overall I’m very satisfied with this polish and the polishes i got from this collection. I think Mooncat is really trying to improve their formulas and I felt the difference in these polishes compared to my last purchase made last year.
I used the Rejuvacote Base coat by duri, Mooncat’s The Silent Scream and Holo Taco’s glossy Taco.

I struggle with these types of polish as well!
I think my expectation is for them to act like gel polish where you have enough time to faff about, but these dry so fast you gotta move and if it doesn’t come out right, you’re outta luck.
I love them but they definitely always get the side eye when I’m choosing my color.
